Sneak Away Riding Club

About Yvette Roney

Yvette's background is in dressage and combined training.  But the early days consisted of over 10 years competing on the hunter circuit in the Mid-Atlantic region as well as New England.  Over the last 15 years Yvette has developed her lesson program to instill confidence, balance and correct use of the body and it's parts so the horse and rider can achieve a harmonious relationship regardless of the discipline of choice.  Yvette's students are given the opportunity to explore different riding styles all in order to aid in making the student, not only an effective rider but a well rounded horseman.  One of Yvette's many satisfactions as an instructor is when her students achieve those "Aha" moments and the lightbulb goes on.  When she finally finds a metaphor that works and the rider and/or horse, "gets it", is very gratifying.

If one wanted to omit everything that can be beneficial to horsemanship because of some difficulties, instead of trying to overcome them, one would soon have to give up riding altogether.  For in horsemanship almost everything is difficult.  But the most difficult thing to endure in riding is bad riding, and this is the only thing we must give up.
